Print Version Available from Amazon
Tony and I were convinced by a couple other authors to offer the book in print on Amazon.com. You can get the print edition here.
The process was easy enough to follow to get the book from PDF to print.
The first step was creating an account at CreateSpace.com. CreateSpace is an affiliate of Amazon.com wherein you are given the means to create your media (in this case a physical book). Of course, it involves:
1) Setting up the account
2) Creating a Project
3) Uploading your print-ready content
4) Creating your cover (ie. either uploading your own image(s) or choosing from a library of pre-fabricated, customizable covers).
5) Option to secure an ISBN and have it affixed to the package (ie. book cover, cd case).
6) Select sales channels
7) Set pricing and provide bio.
8) Have the project reviewed and approved
In the case of getting the book onto Amazon, it is interesting because it takes some days for a product to be fully propagated to the Amazon site from CreateSpace once the product is approved. They must employ some sort of incremental feed, wherein portions of the listing (the product details, image, ISBN, etc) appear piecemeal. So one day, you’ll find the product image without anything else… two days later the book title… and so on and so forth.
Not completely seamless, but pretty tight.
